Witch & Stitch Embroidery Class
Sunday September 27th from 6-8pm
Join us for an evening of witching and stitching with embroidery expert, Elana of Misty Moon! Elana will teach 2 basic stitches to start; back stitch and satin stitch. Then she will give a brief introduction to protective symbols. Each participant will create a protective garment or cloth by hand embroidering a design of their choice. 2-3 options will be shared/provided but students are welcome to do their own as they choose.
Students are welcome to bring their own item to stitch. Keep in mind it should be a material that will be easy to get a needle through. You could stitch on a sleeve, collar, inside, pocket, etc.
Teacher will supply:
Blank bandanas and or tea towels
Embroidery needles
Needle Threaders
Embroidery Thread: Black, White, Gold, Red, Blue, Green
Small bamboo hoops (to hold fabric tight)
Disappearing Ink Pen **
Hair Dryer **
**these are for creating and removing hand drawn stencils before stitching
Workshop will take place at Into the Feral located at 2914 W Belmont Ave, Chicago IL 60618
