Though often misinterpreted as ominous, the Death card is really more of an opportunity for growth and transformation. It’s an invitation to let go of something and shift in another direction. This card signifies an ending, the saying goodbye to something that has run its course. There can be feelings of sorrow and pain that come with endings/change. With death comes rebirth, so it is natural to also feel a sense of relief when we are putting something to rest that no longer serves a purpose in our growth.
In thinking about the Death card and taking its Scorpio astrological correspondence into consideration, I chose herbs for this blend to help offer loving support as you make space to feel your way through cycles of change.
Ingredients: Tulsi, Nettle, Hawthorn Berry, Apple Mint, Rose, Ginger and Rosemary.
*Caffeine free. Blended with herbs that can help sooth & balance the nervous system, support energetic flow, awareness & resiliency. Flavor is fruit & floral with a zing.
The person who I asked to collaborate with for this month is Lisa of Roots and Sky. Lisa created a small batch, natural artisan soap for this theme called Last Rites. This soap was made as an aid in honoring and releasing your former self in times of metamorphosis, symbolic death, and transfiguration. Last Rites was crafted with herbs traditionally part of funeral practices and honoring the dead; including frankincense, myrrh, sage, rosemary, lavender, thyme and eucalyptus. Colors associated with mourning practices were chosen for Last Rites soap: white from kaolin clay, gray from ground lavender flowers, and black from activated charcoal which all provide gentle exfoliation and beneficial skin nutrients.
